Overview
Notion AI is the AI layer built directly into Notion's docs, wikis, and databases, so instead of copying content out to a separate chatbot, you can ask it to summarize a page, draft a brief, translate a doc, or fill in a database property without leaving your workspace. The bigger addition is Notion Agent, which can chain steps together, drafting a document, pulling data from a linked database, and updating a page, all from one instruction, plus AI Meeting Notes that transcribe calls and turn them into summaries with action items.
The tricky part is where Notion draws the pricing line. Free and Plus members only get a capped trial of AI features with no way to buy more, while full Notion AI access, including Notion Agent, Meeting Notes, and Enterprise Search, lives on the Business plan at $20 per member per month. There's also a separate metered Custom Agents feature billed at $10 per 1,000 Notion credits on top of your seat cost. If your team is already paying for Notion Business, the AI is a genuine value-add. If you're on Free or Plus expecting Notion AI, you'll hit the wall fast.
