Creem
Merchant-of-record payments, tax and billing for AI and SaaS builders, with an MCP server built in.
Overview
Creem is a merchant-of-record payments platform for software builders, founded in September 2024 by Google and Adyen alumni Gabriel Ferraz and Alec Erasmus, based in Tallinn, Estonia. It handles the full post-launch monetization stack: checkout, tax compliance, invoicing, fraud protection and payouts, and lets merchants run their own affiliate programs on top of it. On September 17, 2026, the company shipped Creem 2.0, adding an MCP server so an AI coding agent can configure products, pricing and checkout through natural-language commands instead of a developer using a dashboard, aimed at teams shipping AI-built products fast. The same day, Creem raised a €5M seed round led by Inovo VC.
Creem charges a single flat rate per transaction rather than tiered plans, with no monthly or setup fee, but also no free tier: every transaction is charged from the first one.

Pros
Established company (founded September 2024, roughly two years of operating history, not a brand-new entity) with real funding behind it (€5M seed, September 2026)
Single flat, transparent fee (3.9% + $0.40, no monthly or setup fee) with no tiered pricing to compare
Full Merchant-of-Record tax compliance across 50+ countries, handling a genuinely hard compliance problem for small teams
MCP server lets an AI coding agent configure the store directly, a real fit for its AI-builder audience
Multiple published reviews describe fast payouts, responsive support and a clean setup experience versus Stripe or incumbents
Cons
No free tier at all; every transaction costs 3.9% + $0.40 from day one, which is on the higher end of published merchant-of-record pricing (for comparison, tiun advertises roughly 2.9-3.4% + $0.30, though the fee structures aren't fully apples-to-apples)
Creem 2.0's AI-agent/MCP feature set is only days old as of this writing, so while the underlying payments company is established, this specific capability is unproven at scale
The "Creemers" scheme paying bonuses for referring merchants publishes no commission percentage anywhere we could find, so unlike ProductBridge's affiliate program, its terms can't be verified or compared
At least one Trustpilot review alleges a serious payout dispute; we could not independently verify this claim and are not treating it as established fact, but independent reviews are mixed rather than uniformly positive
What Makes It Unique
Creem 2.0's actual differentiator versus a plain Stripe or Paddle setup is its MCP server: an AI agent in Claude or Cursor can set up products, pricing and checkout through natural-language commands rather than a developer using a dashboard, a feature none of the standard merchant-of-record competitors offer in the same way, aimed at teams shipping AI-built products fast.
